FarPen Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
FarPen is a digital drawing and annotation application developed and operated under the Farbius brand. Throughout this Privacy Policy, “FarPen,” “Farbius,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the FarPen application and the party responsible for operating it, as applicable.
FarPen is designed to let users write, draw, highlight, annotate, and use drawing tools over supported applications and on-screen content. Because some of these functions require Android permissions that may appear sensitive, we believe it is important to explain clearly what FarPen can access, why that access may be required, what information may be processed, and what FarPen does not use those permissions to do.
This Privacy Policy applies to the FarPen Android application and to related FarPen services operated by Farbius. It describes how information may be accessed, collected, used, stored, shared, and protected when you use FarPen. It also explains the choices and rights that may be available to you under applicable privacy laws.
Our approach is to limit data processing to what is reasonably necessary to provide FarPen, maintain its security and reliability, support users, improve performance, and operate the services described in this Policy. Wherever practical, FarPen’s core drawing functions are designed to work locally on the user’s device.
2. Information You Provide to Us
FarPen’s basic drawing functionality does not require you to submit a large amount of personal information to Farbius. If you contact us for support, send feedback, report a problem, participate in a test, or communicate with us for another reason, we may receive the information you choose to provide. This may include your name, email address, the contents of your message, screenshots or diagnostic information you voluntarily attach, and any other information necessary to understand and respond to your request.
FarPen’s core drawing features do not currently require the creation of a FarPen or Farbius account. If account-based functionality is introduced in a future version and materially changes how personal information is processed, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly before that processing becomes part of the service.
3. Drawings, Handwriting and Other User-Created Content
FarPen allows you to create handwriting, drawings, annotations, highlights, shapes, marks, and similar visual content. It may also process properties connected with those actions, such as stroke position, stroke width, selected colors, eraser actions, shape settings, and other information needed for the drawing experience.
The core purpose of this information is to render and manage your drawings. Where a feature operates locally, the corresponding drawing information remains on your device and is not transmitted to Farbius merely because you are drawing. If you deliberately choose to save, export, share, synchronize, back up, or otherwise transfer a drawing through a feature that requires transmission, the information necessary to complete that action may be processed for that purpose.
Farbius does not claim ownership of the original drawings or annotations you create through FarPen. You remain responsible for the content you create, save, export, or share.
4. Drawing Over Other Applications
One of FarPen’s principal features is the ability to display a floating toolbar and a transparent drawing layer over other applications. Android may describe the permission used for this functionality as “Display over other apps,” “Appear on top,” or similar wording.
FarPen uses this capability so that the drawing interface can remain visible while you are reading, studying, watching content, presenting material, or otherwise using another supported application. The permission allows FarPen to place its own interface above the current screen. It is not intended to turn FarPen into a monitoring or surveillance tool.
The fact that FarPen can display a drawing surface over another application does not mean that FarPen automatically reads or transmits the underlying application’s content. In ordinary drawing use, FarPen does not use the overlay permission for the purpose of collecting passwords, banking credentials, private messages, browsing history, payment information, or other unrelated content displayed by another application.
If a future FarPen feature requires actual screen capture, such as exporting an annotated screenshot or recording an annotated session, that function would be separate from the ordinary overlay feature and would be initiated by the user. Where Android requires additional permission, system confirmation, or disclosure for such a function, FarPen will request it as required before carrying out the action.
5. Files, Images and Media
Certain FarPen functions may allow you to save drawings, import images, select documents, export annotations, or share files. When you choose to use such a feature, FarPen may access the specific file, image, or storage location required to complete your request.
Where supported by Android, FarPen aims to use system-provided file and media selection tools so that users can choose the particular content they want to use instead of granting unnecessarily broad access to device storage. FarPen does not intentionally scan a user’s photo library, personal files, or unrelated documents for advertising or profiling purposes.
Content that you export to shared storage or another application may remain available outside FarPen after the application is closed or uninstalled. Once content is intentionally shared with another application or service, the handling of that copy may also be governed by the privacy practices of the receiving service.
6. Device Permissions
FarPen may request Android permissions only where they are relevant to a feature being provided. The most important permission for FarPen is the ability to display content over other applications, which is used for the floating toolbar and drawing canvas.
FarPen may also use notification and foreground-service functionality where Android requires it to keep an active drawing or overlay session available while another application is in the foreground. In those cases, Android may require FarPen to display an ongoing notification while the service is active. This notification is intended to communicate application state and support the operation of the active FarPen service; it is not used to read the contents of notifications from other applications.
File, photo, or media access may be requested where a user chooses to import or export content. Internet access may be used for functionality such as advertising, account services, authentication, software configuration, support, diagnostics, updates, purchases, security, or other online FarPen services. The exact permissions available to a particular user depend on the version of FarPen, the Android version, the device, and the features being used.
7. Technical and Diagnostic Information
FarPen itself, or service providers integrated into the application, may process limited technical information that is useful for maintaining the application, diagnosing errors, measuring performance, protecting the service from abuse, supporting advertising, or understanding whether features are functioning correctly.
Depending on the services enabled in the application, this information may include device model, device manufacturer, operating-system version, FarPen version, language settings, general regional information, IP address, application or installation identifiers, advertising identifiers where permitted, application launches, feature interactions, advertising interactions, crash reports, error information, performance measurements, and other diagnostic signals.
This technical information is not collected for the purpose of reading the content of unrelated applications. For example, a crash report may contain information about the FarPen version, device type, Android version, error state, or stack trace so that we can identify a software problem. We do not intentionally design FarPen crash reporting to include private content from an unrelated application displayed beneath the FarPen drawing layer.
8. Advertising
FarPen may use advertising to support free access to some of its functionality. Depending on the application version, advertising may include formats such as rewarded advertisements, banners, interstitial advertisements, or other formats permitted by the relevant application platform and advertising provider.
Where rewarded advertising is offered, a user may choose to view an advertisement in exchange for an application benefit, such as additional usage time or temporary access to a feature. The exact advertising model may change as FarPen develops.
FarPen may use third-party advertising technology, including Google advertising services. Advertising providers may process certain technical information in order to deliver advertisements, measure performance, prevent fraud, enforce frequency limits, and comply with legal requirements. Depending on the provider, configuration, region, consent status, and device settings, that information may include an IP address, approximate location derived from network information, device or application identifiers, advertising identifiers, advertisement impressions, advertisement interactions, application interaction data, diagnostics, and fraud-prevention signals.
Where applicable law requires consent before personalized advertising or related processing, FarPen or the relevant advertising provider may present a consent mechanism. Depending on the user’s location and choices, advertisements may be personalized, non-personalized, limited, or otherwise configured in accordance with available privacy controls. Farbius does not sell users’ personal or sensitive information to data brokers or other parties for monetary compensation.
9. Analytics and Application Improvement
FarPen may use technical analytics to understand whether the application works as expected and which parts of the product require improvement. This may include understanding whether a feature is used, whether a screen loads correctly, whether a crash occurs, whether a device configuration causes compatibility problems, or whether an application update improves stability.
Where analytics are used, Farbius aims to limit them to information that is useful for operating and improving the product. Analytics are not intended to create a detailed profile of the private content a user views in other applications while FarPen is active.
10. Purchases and Paid Features
If FarPen offers paid functionality, purchases may be processed through Google Play or another authorized platform provider. In that situation, the payment provider is responsible for processing the payment information needed to complete the transaction.
Farbius generally does not receive your full payment-card number from a Google Play purchase. We may, however, receive or process transaction-related information such as the product purchased, purchase status, transaction identifier, purchase token, entitlement status, refund or cancellation information, and other information necessary to verify that a purchase is valid and to provide the corresponding FarPen functionality.
Purchase information may also be used to prevent fraud, restore purchases, resolve support requests, and comply with applicable financial or legal obligations.
11. Information FarPen Does Not Intentionally Collect for Core Drawing Use
FarPen is not designed to require access to unrelated categories of sensitive personal data in order to provide its basic drawing and annotation features. Unless a particular feature clearly requires such access and the necessary notice or permission is provided, FarPen does not intentionally collect contact lists, SMS messages, call logs, precise GPS location, health records, biometric data, microphone recordings, camera recordings, full payment-card details, passwords from other applications, private messages from other applications, unrelated clipboard content, or browsing history.
The overlay feature should not be understood as permission for FarPen to collect everything visible on the device. Its purpose is to display FarPen’s own drawing interface over the current screen.
12. How We Use Information
Information processed through FarPen is used only for purposes connected with providing, operating, protecting, and improving the application and related services. This includes enabling drawing and annotation tools, completing user-requested file operations, maintaining settings, managing optional accounts, verifying purchases, responding to support requests, diagnosing technical problems, improving compatibility and performance, preventing abuse or fraud, maintaining security, operating permitted advertising, and complying with applicable legal requirements.
We do not intend to use personal or sensitive user information for a materially unrelated purpose without providing appropriate notice and, where required by law, obtaining consent.
13. When Information May Be Shared
Farbius does not share personal information simply because FarPen is installed or because the drawing overlay is active. Information may, however, be made available to service providers when this is necessary to operate a particular feature or service.
These providers may include companies that support advertising, analytics, crash reporting, authentication, cloud infrastructure, payment processing, fraud prevention, or technical support. They may process information on our behalf or, in some situations, as independent controllers under their own privacy terms.
Information may also be disclosed when we reasonably believe disclosure is required to comply with applicable law, a valid legal process, court order, or lawful government request; to investigate fraud or security incidents; or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Farbius, FarPen users, or other persons.
If Farbius or FarPen is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or transfer of assets, information associated with the service may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable privacy law and appropriate safeguards.
14. Data Retention and Deletion
We aim to keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was processed, unless a longer retention period is required for legal, accounting, security, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution reasons.
Drawings or files stored only on your device generally remain there until you delete them, clear FarPen’s application data, or uninstall the application. Files that you intentionally export to shared device storage or another service may remain after FarPen is removed because those copies are no longer stored exclusively inside the application.
If optional FarPen or Farbius accounts are enabled, account information may be retained while the account is active and for a limited period afterwards where this is necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal obligations, or legitimate operational records. Support communications may also be retained for a reasonable period so that we can resolve a request and maintain appropriate support records.
If FarPen allows users to create an account, users will be provided with a method to request deletion of the account and associated personal information. Where required by platform rules or applicable law, this will include a way to initiate deletion from within the application and an accessible web-based deletion option. A valid deletion request will result in deletion or anonymization of associated personal information unless a specific category must be retained for a lawful reason.
15. Data Security
Farbius uses reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Depending on the type of data and service involved, these measures may include encrypted network communication, access controls, secure authentication mechanisms, restricted administrative access, software dependency updates, data minimization, and security monitoring.
No application, network, device, or storage system can guarantee absolute security. Users should also protect their devices, account credentials, and any files they choose to export or share.
16. International Processing
Some third-party services used by FarPen may operate infrastructure outside the country in which a user is located. As a result, technical, advertising, account, diagnostic, or other online service information may be processed in another country.
Where applicable privacy law imposes requirements on international transfers of personal data, Farbius and relevant service providers will use legally recognized safeguards or other permitted mechanisms as appropriate.
17. Legal Basis and Your Privacy Rights
Where a privacy law requires Farbius to identify a legal basis for processing, the basis will depend on the purpose of the processing. Some information may be processed because it is necessary to provide a feature or service you requested. Other processing may be based on your consent, our legitimate interests in maintaining a secure and reliable application, or a legal obligation that applies to us. Where processing depends on consent, you may withdraw that consent where the applicable service and law allow it. Withdrawal of consent does not make earlier lawful processing unlawful.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding personal information we hold about you. These may include rights to request information about processing, obtain access to certain personal information, correct inaccurate information, request deletion, restrict or object to certain processing, withdraw consent, or obtain certain information in a portable format. You may also have the right to submit a complaint to a competent data-protection authority.
Users in Türkiye may have rights under Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK). Users in the European Economic Area may have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and users in other jurisdictions may have additional rights under their local laws. Where reasonably necessary, we may ask for information sufficient to verify a privacy request before disclosing or deleting account information.
18. Children’s Privacy
FarPen is designed as a general productivity and educational annotation application and is not intended to knowingly collect unnecessary personal information from children.
Unless a particular FarPen version is specifically configured, disclosed, and operated for younger users, the service is not intended for children under the age at which they may independently consent to the relevant digital service under applicable law. If FarPen is offered to younger users in the future, we may apply additional age-appropriate design, parental-consent, advertising, and data-processing protections as required.
If a parent or legal guardian believes that a child has provided personal information to FarPen in a way that is not permitted, they may contact us so that we can investigate the matter and take appropriate action.
19. Third-Party Services and External Links
FarPen may rely on or link to third-party services such as Google Play, Android platform services, advertising services, authentication providers, analytics systems, crash-reporting systems, payment services, or cloud infrastructure. These providers may process information according to their own privacy policies and legal responsibilities.
FarPen may also contain links that open external websites or applications. Once you leave FarPen or intentionally share information with another independent service, the privacy practices of that service may apply. Farbius does not control the privacy practices of independent third parties.
20. Changes to FarPen and This Privacy Policy
FarPen may change over time as the product, its technical infrastructure, and applicable legal or platform requirements evolve. If a change materially affects how personal information is collected, used, stored, or shared, this Privacy Policy will be revised to reflect that change and any additional notice or consent required by law will be provided.
We may also update this Policy to reflect changes in service providers, security practices, legal requirements, or Google Play and Android platform policies. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page indicates when the most recent revision took effect. Where appropriate, material changes may also be communicated within FarPen or through another suitable channel.

22. A Final Note About FarPen’s Overlay Functionality
Because FarPen is designed to work above other applications, we want to make this point particularly clear: the ability to draw over another application is provided so that users can place FarPen’s own interactive drawing surface on top of the current screen. It is not intended to give Farbius access to everything a user sees or does in another application.
FarPen’s core product philosophy is to keep drawing functionality as local and user-controlled as reasonably possible while requesting only the access required for the features users choose to use. If that approach changes in a material way, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.
